Hello reader,
My name is Fanny Mills. I was born on August 30, 1860. I was born with a disease called Milroy’s disease. This disease causes swelling and fluid building. It cause my legs and feet to swell up a lot. I have to wear a size 30 shoe! People know me as the Ohio Bigfoot Lady, but I wish they knew me as Fanny Mills. I am unable to walk with assistance. Most people make fun of me and laugh when they see me. One time someone offered out a reward of five thousand dollars to anyone who agrees to marry me. I was lucky enough to find a husband that married me for me and did not accept the award. I decided to become part of the freak show, so I could make a steady wage for how I looked. Hey, I even ended up making one hundred and fifty dollars a week! I writing this to tell people that I’m more than just a circus act, I am me. I am a normal person who grew to love my flaws so much that I flaunt them. I love who I have become. I just want to make sure that nobody is ashamed of themselves and how they look. You are you and as beautiful as can be, do not let anyone tell you otherwise. If I can do it, you can do it.
Much love,
Fanny Mills
